This is my first time to post on this blog. It’s kinda scary.

We encourage all of our church members to write new songs, rewrite old songs or add new verses to good songs.  It is an amazing experience to be a part of a church that has their own worship songs. It’s bonding. And it allows our worship to flow out of our own experiences as individuals  and as a church. So, with that in mind, Bonnie encouraged me to blog about a verse that I added to the doxology, Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow.

The original song is :

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

I added:

Praise Jesus, who is in our midst.
Praise Him, who is our righteousness.
Praise Him, who bore away our sin.
Who lives above and dwells within.

As we’ve gotten to know Jesus more and more, the idea of writing worship songs has become less scary. The more I know about Him, the more worship I have for Him and the more ideas I have for worship songs. I wrote this verse because the fact of Jesus being in our midst, when we gather in His name, has been really important to me lately. Praise Jesus for being in us and in our midst!
